Profiles

Mr Kris Inch

School of Biological & Marine Sciences (NC) (Faculty of Science & Engineering (NC))

Role

Kris is a Research Assistant in Coastal Processes within the School of Biological and Marine Sciences. His work includes supporting and undertaking field-based research, performing advanced data analysis and numerical modelling of nearshore data, carrying out consultancy projects for the research-informed consultancy CMAR, and the publication of scientific papers and consultancy reports. Past topics have included storm waves and impact on energetic beaches, extreme wave and water levels for flood prevention, beach safety, and marine renewable energy.

Kris recently completed a PhD studying the nearshore hydrodynamics associated with long-period (infragravity) storm waves. He has a wide range of analytical and field-based experience, including participation in large scale field experiments both home and abroad, carrying out multiple storm response surveys, numerical modelling of nearshore data, and statistical analysis. Kris has authored several peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented at national and international conferences.
