Qualifications

Kevin Burrows is a lecturer in Accounting atPlymouth University. Before teaching for the University, Kevin has worked in a rangeof businesses from small business start-ups to one of the largest big fouraccountancy firms. Over the years, Kevin has used his knowledge of Management& Financial Accounting to help develop several Residenti al PropertyInvestment portfolios within the UK (since 1999). Further to this Kevin is afirst class honours graduate in Accounting &Finance, a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and afellow of the Higher EducationAcademy (HEA). 

At the beginning of 2014 Plymouth University asked Kevinto use his business start-up knowledge and understanding of accounting todevelop and launch a new undergraduate programme, 'Foundation Year Management,Government & Law'. The course is now in its second year of delivery and hassuccessfully brought almost 200 additional students into Higher Educationwho may not have applied,  had such a course not been developed. 

Kevin is a keen continuously learner and is currently using his years ofpractical  propertyexperience to help him undertake an MSc in Real Estate Investment at the University ofReading. Upon completion, Kevin is hopes that his combined practical and academic understanding ofaccounting and property issues will serve as a solid platform for developing highimpact research and potentially develop new Plymouth University courses within the real estate sector.
