Senior Project Officer, Knowledge Exploitation
I work proactively with Senior Leaders in the Marine Institute and Faculty of Science and Environment to identify strategic development opportunities within the areas of research, innovation and business collaborations. I establish and progress projects, generate income as a result of business leads, create relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders to ensure the long term success of the Marine Institute’s aims and objectives in support of the University’s mission to deliver world-class research and meaningful collaborations with businesses and the community.
I project manage the Marine Institute’s Regional, National and European research and business development projects and programmes including the project management, co-ordinating recruitment, monitoring, reporting, marketing and communications activities as well as providing accountability to the European Commission (EC) for the successful completion of deliverables within the agreed timeframes and various project budgets.
I identify, prepare and plan strategically aligned events for the Marine Institute to attend or exhibit at in line with the objectives of the Marine Institute. These include conferences, workshops and any other relevant strategically aligned opportunities. I generate income from interactions with businesses, both during external events and through HEIF (Higher Education, Innovation Funding) opportunities. I project manage the production of the Marine Institute Annual Review and marketing materials.
MSc Marine Renewable Energy
The first UK Masters degree in marine renewable energy which focused on the key emergent marine sectors: offshore wind, wave power and tidal power (both tidal barrages and tidal stream). - full cross-disciplinary modules included marine science, engineering, economics, law and policy.
Provided an understanding of how to integrate different management approaches with enterprise, technology and innovation.
BA (Hons) Business and Finance
Awarded Upper Second Classification. This course developed understanding of major economic, political, legal, business and cultural factors which affect the international business environment.
