I am currently the Dissertation Co-ordinator for the MSc Contemporary Healthcare Programme. I am the module leader for several evidence-informed decision making modules. I am a member of the Faculty Staff Ethics Committees. My main pedagogical interests are in developing teaching and learning strategies to engage large groups of students in evidence-informed decision making, specifically team-based learning.
Trained as a Registered Nurse at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge in 1979. Completed a BSc (2.1) in Psychology at the University of York in 1984; and PhD in Psychosocial Oncology at the University of Southampton in 1987. Completed a PGDipEd at the University of Plymouth in 2001.
Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
