Miss Helen Wenger

Lecturer in Advanced Practice Nursing

School of Nursing and Midwifery (Faculty of Health)

I am an Advanced Nurse practitioner currently sharing my time between Emergency Medicine in ED at Treliske and teaching on the Advanced Practice Programme here at UoP. I sit on the RCN's ANP forum at a national level. I am currently lecturing on the Advanced Practice Programme within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. I have a passion to drive forward clinical roles within nursing, para-medicine and other allied health professions to equip learners, who are experienced clinicians within their own right, with advanced consultation skills, decision making and diagnostic skills to help the progression of non-medical advanced practice within the NHS. I am still actively working in the NHS as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine which ties in nicely with frameworks such as the RCN Advanced Clinical Practice credntialing service and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) ACP curriculum.
