Fiona has over seventeen years’ experience at working within a primary care, general practice setting, both as Practice Nurse and as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner that has equipped her with an extensive knowledge of the professional issues specific to general practice and primary care nursing.
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and ex salaried partner, she has both expertise and contemporary experience in the area of advanced nursing practice, and provides leadership and a consultancy function as required.
Previous Diabetes Lead for a Primary Care Trust responsible for the development of care pathways & new models of service development across the Trust and health economy.
As a Queens Nurse she hopes to contribute further to the future planning of primary care service’s in a consultation role as she has a key understanding of the political, financial and economic context affecting general practice nursing in the NHS. With a sound knowledge base of the professional issues specific to nursing in primary care settings, including: commissioning, service development, training needs, frailty and succession planning.
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner provides “expert knowledge and advice” to patients and colleagues. “Demonstrating advanced clinical competencies and complex decision making skills” striving to be visionary and innovative in developing patient services to meet the needs of population.
