Biography
Biography
My professional background is in social work. Before qualifying I worked in residential care, first as a project worker in a care home for ex-offenders and later as deputy project manager of a drug rehabilitation centre. I then worked as a hospital social worker in a multi-agency team, before moving to the third sector to run a project supporting migrant children and families at risk of destitution.
My doctoral research explored the food insecurity experienced by undocumented migrant families in the UK, and my research has continued to focus on the ways in which children and families who are subject to immigration control are excluded from welfare services.
