Mr Andrew Arnold
School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (Faculty of Science and Engineering)
The focus of my role is to provide technical support for undergraduates, postgraduates and researchers in their inorganic and analytical chemistry endeavours. This includes managing/operating/demonstrating the School's atomic absorption facilities, which see the hands-on use of the instrumentation by approximately 250 undergrads and postgrads in each academic year, many of them on several occasions.
Support also provided for other specific and general areas of chemistry.
Prominent role in the day-to-day function of this part of the school's technical provision. This includes a lot of varied administrative tasks. For example, I am heavily involved in the planning cycle regarding the timetabling of laboratories.
