Mrs Amanda Young
Lecturer in Adult Nursing
School of Nursing and Midwifery (Faculty of Health)
I joined the University of Plymouth as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing in 2016 after working in varied nursing specialties including community nursing, ITU, acute paediatrics and as a nutrition nurse specialist. I completed my degree at the University of Alberta in Canada.
I have a clinical interest in primary care and generalist palliative care. Within the University, I have an interest in inclusive education and other equality, diversity and inclusion activities. I sit on the Race Equality Charter committee, Faculty of Health Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee, and the Faculty of Health Decolonizing the Curriculum committee. I am currently deputy-programme lead for the undergraduate nursing programme in Exeter.
I teach across undergraduate nursing modules and lead the Primary Care in Adult Nursing module.
