School of Marine Science and Engineering (Faculty of Science and Engineering)

Role

My current research is on the hydrodynamics of compressible bodies for wave energy conversion.

Qualifications

I obtained my PhD from the Centre for Ships and Ocean Structures, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). My thesis was on the Modelling and geometry optimisation of wave energy converters. I defended my thesis in 2013. The topic of my PhD trial lecture was Ocean Mining: Potential and Technological Challenges.

I have BEng and MEng in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Research interests

ocean wave energy conversion, wave-structure interactions, multi-objective optimisation
