2. Pathways

The BEd programmes are actually composed of three different pathways. The BEd programme allows you to study in one of 3 different pathways; FS/KS1, KS1/KS2 and SEN. If you follow the KS1/2 pathway you can qualify with an exit award in one of twelve different primary subjects.

3. Collaboration

The BEd programme is supported by a lecturing team who are second to none.

Each lecturer is an expert within their specialism and has experience not only of teaching but of current research in the field. In addition to this all modules involve school based opportunities, working with school based colleagues to support the links between the academic studies and the practical engagement

4. Development

Discover the opportunities that a professional programme can offer you as a primary practitioner.

The professional development opportunities which range from first-aid to Makaton are there to promote a discovery within yourself not only for your teaching but also for your confidence and self-development.

5. Diverse placement settings

The Primary Partnership expanses all of the South West region but we also have school placement opportunities in Redbridge and Jersey. We pride ourselves in offering a number of diverse settings for schools over the three years – looking to place students in opportunities which could range from a coastal school to a large inner-city primary school.

6. Employability

Over 90% of our BEd graduates go straight into employment after they have graduated.

Furthermore we keep a close link with our graduates, the Primary Partnership is made up of mentors and classroom teachers who have also been previous students here at Plymouth. Support is offered to gain employment for your first year of teaching whether that be within Plymouth or further afield. Some of our previous graduates are working in Australia, Chile, Middle East, Far-East and within Europe.
