In the School of Psychology we have an impressive range of specialist expertise reflecting all the major branches of psychology. Your course will be delivered by experts in their fields, many with international reputations for their research. Student learning and support were rated as excellent by The Sunday Times, based on our evaluation by the government's Quality Assurance Agency.
Your experience will be enriched by a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, practicals, seminars, tutorials and group and individual projects. We will help you to integrate the different areas of psychology and will learn how to apply them.
You will be given a personal tutor and he or she will provide academic and personal support and guidance throughout your time with us at Plymouth. In your first year you will meet regularly as part of a small tutorial group and individually when needed. In your remaining years you will meet with your tutor on an individual basis at regular intervals. There are also a number of Teaching and Research Assistants who are there to support you in workshops as well as being able to meet with you outside of formal classes and help you with any queries about the teaching content.

Like all of the staff and postgraduates who teach on the psychology course, Sophie is completing a teaching qualification.Read more about Sophie's award winning teaching
