Welcome To NeuroCoRe (The Neuro-Cognitive Research Centre)
The Neuro-Cognitive Research Centre is a non-commercial, innovative mHealth research team based in Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry, UK. Established in 2010, we aim to design and develop new computerised measures of cognitive functioning in neurodegenerative diseases and mHealth solutions for various diseases or conditions.
Cognitive assessment innovation: NeuroCoRe are focused on improving the assessment of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease and Parkinson's disease. With neurodegenerative disease, early detection is essential for improving the individual's quality of life. However, currently, the most commonly used measures are not always sensitive enough or specific enough to detect these diseases as early as we would like. NeuroCoRe believe that computerised measures could be the key to identifying an assessment sensitive and specific enough to do just that.
mHealth innovation: We are working on a range of projects which predominantly support the assessment of disease specific symptoms by individuals at home, for a range of conditions. The focus here is on empowerment of patients and knowledge transfer from specialists to patients in their lives.
