It is possible to register your PhD with Plymouth University, but conduct it at your local university. This model of postgraduate study allows students to do their PhD on a part-time basis in conjunction with employment. A member of the Plymouth-based team is also included within each supervision team, ensuring that each project is genuinely linked to activities taking place in Plymouth. Members of the networks collaborate primarily online in a virtual network, but come together face-to-face in seminars and annual conferences to ensure that their connection is dynamic and real as well as virtual.
'Because of internationalisation, I had the chance to explore the world, challenge myself and experience a different way of life. People from different countries can come together to share ideas and learn from each other. Having the chance to study abroad made me realise that I am capable of more than I ever imagined.'
Lingyuan Meng, former MSc Marketing Management and Strategy graduate from China, and now a member of staff in the Faculty of Business.
