Jiangnan University International Design Summer School 

22 June - 3 July 2020

This summer school is designed to: promote interdisciplinary practice for design students from various backgrounds; explore different emerging issues along with new technologies; and create a unique experience of the traditional and the new cultures in China.

The 2020 Jiangnan University international summer school aims to provide an opportunity to investigate the concerns above with participants from all over the world, and regard the transformation and challenges as opportunity to investigate new possibilities and new ways to reach the significance of human beings as a whole.


Soochow University Summer School 

22 June - 3 July 2020

Soochow University 2020 international design workshop will take 'garden reconstruction' as the theme of the activity, which is an attempt to integrate 'traditional culture' and 'modern design' and recreate the design activity. By investigating 'suzhou gardens' as the representative of classical Chinese garden culture construction, teachers and students will work together during the design activities. The design workshop carry out the 'refactoring' landscape design mode, students will not only learn making rockery from the Chinese classical garden, the traditional architectural landscape knowledge such as water-modulation, will also enjoy the pleasure of hands-on and innovation in the workshop.

The academic content for both Summer Schools runs from Monday 22 June through to Friday 3 July 2020. You will travel to China on Saturday 20 June and return on Saturday 4 July 2020.

The Summer Schools are open to all non-final year undergraduate students studying within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Business at the University of Plymouth (exchange students are not eligible),

One student's experience in Shanghai
