Handprint family

Learning objectives

To learn how to make a family tree.

Resources needed

  • Paper
  • Craft paints (different colours)
  • Markers

 

Instructions

  • Paint a tree trunk on a piece of paper (be as creative as you want).
  • Ask each member of your family to choose a colour and apply paint to one of their hands.
  • Ask your family members to press their hands down on the paper to form the branches of the tree.

Ways to include all learners

  • Make sure the palm of your hand is flat against the paper. If it doesn't work, try it again with more paint.
  • If you have a large family, paint the branches with a brush or your finger, then press your finger or thumb prints onto the paper to make the leaves.
