    • BFDA104 Digital Electronics

      This is a foundation module in digital electronics and computer control, which introduces digital devices and provides a background in the principles, design and applications of combinational and sequential logic circuits.

    • CCN101 Electrical and Electronic Principles

      The module introduces: passive and reactive devices, D.C. and A.C. circuit principles, elementary electric and magnetic field theory.

    • CCN105 Communication Network Principles

      This module introduces the concepts of electronic communication over a distance, the associated problems in achieving this and the principles of carrying data through communications media.

    • CCN111 Optical Fibre Communication Systems

      This module covers the basic principles of light transmission in optical fibres, the differing modes of propagation and the types of fibre in common use. The physical properties and operating principles of a range of light sources and detectors are also covered. The performance of complete fibre optic communication systems and their design is covered.

    • COBC1021 Computer Systems Architecture

      In this module the student will learn about number systems, basic and extended computer architectures, instruction sets, RISC computers, memory systems and Internet-aware devices.

    • COBC1027 Computer Network Principles

      This module introduces the architecture and components of computer networks. It is designed to cover the topics required for students to obtain the CCNA Modules "Network Fundamentals" and "LAN Design".

    • COBC1039 Computational Methods

      This module introduces the mathematical methods and techniques needed to understand computing and electronic communications theory and concepts, as well as those needed to develop effective systems in those fields.

    • CCN216 Fault Diagnosis

      This module develops a systematic and structured technique in the identification, location and correction of faults within a system or sub system.

    • COBC1152 Project (Group)

      In this module a student will work with others to develop a computer system (program, database or website) to meet an external client's requirement.

    • COBC1195 Introduction to Programming

    • COBC1196 Project (Individual)

    • COBC2025 Wide Area Networks and Protocols

      This module describes the components, architecture and operation of routers. It describes routing principles and protocols. The module discusses WAN technologies and services, network monitoring and troubleshooting.

    • CCN215 Project

      The purpose of this module is to provide the vehicle for the full integration of all the skills learned during the programme, culminating in the production of a practical and commercially acceptable product which can be evaluated.

    • BFDA203 Microprocessor and Embedded System Design

      This module introduces the design of microprocessor hardware, microprocessor architecture and appropriate programming techniques. The course has a strong practical bias where students are required to solve various problems by programming existing hardware and culminating in a team project to design, construct, program and test a microprocessor based system.

    • CCN224 Microwave and Satellite Communication Systems

      This module introduces students to the principles of microwave and satellite systems. It includes the hardware, modulation techniques, signal path loss, link power budget calculations and satellite orbits and networks.

    • COBC2015 Security

      This module looks at protection mechanisms appropriate to IT systems, focusing upon technologies that are appropriate regardless of whether a system is implemented as part of a network.

    • COBC2016 Advanced Databases

      To enable the student to gain understanding of DBMS systems in a multi-user and client-server environment and to give the student experience of creating, administering and managing a database in a multi-user environment.

    • COBC2017 Human Computer Interaction

      This module enables students to appreciate the importance of design in application development.

    • COBC2024 Computational Methods B

      Mathematical methods and techniques to support the mathematical models employed to teach electronic communication engineering.

    • COBC2167 Mobile Communications and Network Programming

    • COBC2168 Network Administration
