Bridgwater College and Somerset College recently merged to become Bridgwater & Taunton College. Study a specialist degree with us and be part of our growing community of over 28,000 students.     • BRID3317 Food Supply Chain Management

      This module examines the challenges of managing food supply chains from `farm to fork', particularly in the context of recent food recalls and the increasing importance of food security and sustainability. The module covers 3 key areas: food supply chain processes systems and intermediaries; management of food supply chain efficiency and risks; interaction between food supply chains and food security and sustainability.

    • BRID3316 Food Safety and Quality Management

      This module will examine the essential requirements for food safety and quality throughout the food chain. Manufacturers must ensure that food safety and quality management systems are effectively implemented, managed and become an integral part of the business. To that end this module will examine the available Food Safety and Quality Management Systems which can be employed from 'farm to fork'.

    • BRID3318 Strategic and Human Resource Management

      This module supports students in making sense of the behaviour of the organisations in which they will work. It examines the nature and significance of strategic management, introducing theories, methods and tools which can assist strategic thinking, planning and implementation. It also provides students with an overview of key elements of human resources management within the food supply chain.

    • BRID3320 Data Synthesis for Management in the Agri Food Sector

      The learner will study the latest technological systems for data capture on and off farm and the political and environmental developments that impact on input and output prices. Modern farms, food buyers and agribusiness use data from sensors and the internet constantly to monitor and improve performance. The student will become skilled in using and managing data from the cloud and sensors to make informed decisions.

    • BRID3319 Honours Project

      This module will allow the student to investigate, in depth, a topic of their choice and apply the findings to a practical situation: normally to their work-based-learning business. It will normally integrate with their work-based-learning module It will use applied research skills, investigation, critical appraisal and justification.
