“Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”
“Famous authors and bestsellers in children’s fiction represent one area, but there are many different genres in publishing – Harry Potter being the only character to successfully move from book to film, merchandise and other media. Crossover concepts, coupled with the breadth of the publishing industry, keep it invigorated and compelling. At Plymouth, the emphasis is placed on the variety of careers and roles available and how they interlink.
After nearly 30 years in publishing, I am committed to practical training and preparation for employment within a supportive academic environment. Publishing is popular and competitive, so I facilitate immediate engagement with employers and on teaching the skills they see, while recognising creativity and entrepreneurship in each student.
The MA offers a combination of vocational skills, business awareness and the encouragement of the individual, in preparation for both conventional and digital platforms to enable the transition into one of the largest global industries.”
