Derriford Research Facility: research teams

Growing our research teams includes supporting the PhD students who are the life-blood of our laboratories.

Alongside the Peninsula Medical Foundation we are fundraising to support our PhD students with the cost of their study, demonstrating our commitment to attracting the best minds in medicine into a supportive environment.

Supporting PhD studentships

Foram Dave has a masters degree in biotechnology from VNSGU in India and a masters degree in molecular medicine from Brunel University, London. She has come to Plymouth University with a wealth of research experience gained in India and in the UK.

"I found that Plymouth University Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry has an expert multidisciplinary brain tumour research team, with the main focus on low-grade brain tumours. I joined the University with the aim of expanding my skills and experience to become professional researcher, while working with an excellent research facility and expert brain tumour research team, led by Professor Oliver Hanemann" said Foram.

With your support, Foram will continue her crucial research into finding cures and treatments for these life-threatening illnesses.
