As the University of Plymouth is a registered charity, a legacy will normally reduce the tax payable on your estate. In the legacy information pack, there are suggested wordings for a gift in your will to the University of Plymouth.

As a member of our 1862 Society, you are a friend of the University. As such we will send you updates from the University as well as inviting you to special events.
1862 was the founding year for the University as a School of Navigation. Across the centuries since, our journey has seen expansion into new faculties and facilities, with the influence of our students, alumni and research impacting across the world.

Yes, of course. Your gift will be directed according to your wishes. By giving an unrestricted legacy, you are maximising our opportunity to put your donation to immediate use, to benefit those who need your support the most.
However, we understand that you may wish to direct your legacy gift to an area that is important to you. Such as our medical research, arts programmes, or student support. Please get in touch with us to discuss the legacy you want your gift to leave.
