What is the alumni community?

Did you know that the word alumni is used to describe a group of individuals who have graduated from an educational institution?

Once you become a graduate of the University of Plymouth, you automatically become part of our alumni community. Being involved is free and all we need are your up to date contact details so we can stay in touch with you and keep you informed about the benefits which we offer you.

When you finish university we will continue to support you by offering careers support for three years after graduation, reunions and networking opportunities and even graduate internships. Read on to find out more.

How do I join?

When you graduate you will automatically become one of our alumni but, in order to hear about the benefits of membership, you need to share your personal (non-student) email address with us and give permission for us to email you after graduation!

You can update your email and permissions easily online at any time during your studies.

Visit e@dmin to check whether you have opted in to alumni communications and update your email address.

We won’t share your information with any third party and you can unsubscribe at any time. Read our full data policy for more information.

Be inspired

From representing defendants facing the death penalty in the State of Georgia, to starting their own businesses and shaping the future of sustainability, your fellow alumni are making a difference around the world. You alumni community is an inspiring place to be.

"Being an active part of the University’s alumni community has given me some great opportunities which I have fully grasped! Highlights include being successfully nominated for the US State Department’s premier knowledge exchange initiative, the International Visitor Leadership Programme (IVLP) and travelling from Washington DC to New York, Cincinnati and Los Angeles, connecting with fellow graduates who have also launched their own social enterprise start-ups and speaking at one of the University’s TEDx events. I’ve enjoyed working with staff and students at the University to make an impact and participating in the alumni community."

The survey is important because your opinions will help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development and the University to shape our programmes for students who are following in your footsteps.

Please keep your details up to date and respond if HESA contacts you to complete the survey.
