Connect magazine
Connect is the internally-facing, printed magazine for University of Plymouth. It celebrates the achievements and initiatives of people within the University – both in their day-to-day roles and responsibilities, as well as in their extra-curricular activities. Each edition will contain a range of different story types, along with specific sections devoted to community engagement, and news in brief from around the campus, accompanied by strong imagery provided by the University's photographic team. Connect is particularly keen to generate the following types of story:
- interviews with academics, publicising research projects and innovative teaching
- round-table discussions with teams, written in a Q&A style
- ‘behind-the-scenes’ features on major events, such as graduation
- quirky human interest stories of personal achievement or extra-curricular activity.
Connect is sent to staff members across the University, and is made available to students and members of the public through copies left in breakout spaces on campus.
How do I submit a story to Connect?
The Connect team works proactively to generate story ideas but always welcomes feedback and suggestions from members of staff. Each edition provides a copy suggestion deadline (located on the back page) and members of staff can contact editor Andrew Merrington with ideas.
