The Development Office is responsible for driving programmes in fundraising, alumni engagement, external partnerships, stakeholder engagement, community relations, and event management to help support strategic University projects and programmes. Our primary aim is to provide the University with partnerships, opportunities and relationships that will help to attract philanthropic support, sponsorship, and investment in University strategic priorities.
The Alumni Engagement Team works to include our graduates in the life of the University through a range of programmes and projects. Alumni are encouraged to get involved by volunteering their time to mentor students, helping judge student competitions or standing as an alumni ambassador; providing their expertise by advising academic panels, appearing in case studies; or supporting the University’s fundraising campaign by making a donation towards one of our key projects.
We also help alumni to stay connected with each other through a programme of worldwide networking events, social media and our online community. Being the first point of contact for over 100,000 University of Plymouth alumni worldwide, we take pride in the achievements of our graduates and in offering excellent customer service to the alumni community.
Fundraising and Sponsorship is responsible for leading the development of a range of sustainable long-term income generation streams for the University, through philanthropic donations, corporate sponsorship, legacies and regular giving.
Focusing on securing funding for the University’s Campaign projects across science, medicine and health, the arts, business, engineering and education, we engage and build relationships with donors and other key supporters, including our own alumni, staff and students.
From providing bursaries for talented schoolchildren, students and alumni to undertake projects benefiting both their development and society to gaining funding for cutting-edge facilities to further crucial medical research, the help our supporters provide is transforming lives locally, nationally and internationally.
This team is responsible for developing and managing sustainable University partnerships (including outward sponsorship) and stakeholder engagement, including management of Drake’s Place Gardens and Reservoir. Our primary focus is aligning, connecting and leveraging relationships to drive support for strategic University priorities, including those within Campaign.
Our Come On In campaign builds on the successful development of Drake's Place as a community space and gateway to wider stakeholder engagement in the life of the University.
