As part of the University of Plymouth’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, an LGBT+ Inclusion Taskforce has been set up to champion all aspects of University life for both LGBT+ staff and students. The taskforce will follow Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index (WEI) to ensure process, policy and practice across the institution works for everyone regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Led by the University’s Head of Student Services, Alice Ludgate, and the University Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Ariel Chapman, the Taskforce includes membership from all Faculties and Departments across the institution. Over the coming twelve months, the Taskforce will devote time and resource to investigate LGBT+ inclusion in seven key areas:
- Communication
- Community Engagement
- Employee Network Groups
- Leadership
- Policies and employee Lifecycle
- Procurement and Estate
- Student Journey
