We run clinical teacher training for clinicians involved with teaching years 2-5 medical students. These sessions are aimed at clinical teachers who are new to Medical School assessments or need to update their assessor training. This 2.5 hour session looks at the outline and context of the undergraduate medical programme, the assessments involved in the course and tips to facilitate student learning. It is also an opportunity to meet and share experiences with other clinical teachers.
In addition to the scheduled Years 2-5 clinical teacher training sessions, we also run short condensed training sessions for established clinical teachers who need to update their assessor training called Update Lite. These are 90-minute sessions, only for established clinical teachers who need updating, with the focus on maximising learning in the clinical environment and performing assessments.
We also offer training for academic tutors and SSU providers and run two large staff development events each year containing keynote speakers and a variety of breakout sessions.
