Risk enablement: creating a safe and effective person centred service
A module for health and social care practitioners to examine the promotion of choice and control on how risk is understood, managed and negotiated

This 20 credit module, which can be taken at either degree level or masters level challenges and develops an awareness of relevant national and international policy which
currently influences risk enablement.
It will enable health and social care practitioners to critically examine the ethical reasoning and decision making skills that influence risk enablement practice.
It provides a person centred approach which enables creative solutions to individual care. Strength based approaches will also be explored to generate innovative ways of working, challenging practitioner and organisational values to collaboratively assess and progress an individual’s evolving needs.
