Embedding in General Practice
For registered practitioners working within General Practice.

This 20 credit module is aimed at registered practitioners working within general practice who wish to equip themselves with the necessary practice skills to function within this environment whilst encouraging a critical view of practice.
This is one of three standalone modules that make up the Fundamentals of General Practice programme also including Transition into General Practice and Advancing within General Practice.
The experienced General Practice Nurse (GPN), Beth Hawkes, leads this
module, with input from a multi-professional educational team and experts from
practice to give you a unique experience.
You will have the opportunity to learn with peers from GP working and enjoy a mixture of learning styles, such as face-to-face teaching*, online and distance learning and self-directed learning.
*This will be dependent on restrictions imposed by the Covid 19 pandemic. However, please keep all dates free that would have been face to face, to engage with ‘live’ teaching and each other on these days, which maybe via zoom or in the classroom.

government guidance relating to COVID-secure operation. For this
reason, modules are being delivered in a variety of formats, with much content
delivered online, either in an interactive manner (i.e. requiring participation

to conduct some of the study outside of the typical taught hours of 09:00–17:00).
Some sessions, particularly clinical assessments, will continue to be delivered face-to-face with appropriate risk-mitigating measures in place. Others may allow you the option of attending face-to-face or synchronously engaging on-line with peers who attend face-to-face.
