This 20 credit masters-level module will enhance your existing professional skills and knowledge in safeguarding adults, enabling you to develop your analytical skills when working with adults at risk of abuse and/or in vulnerable circumstances.
You will incorporate relevant theory and research to develop practice to protect an adult’s right to live a life free from abuse and neglect and be supported as you advance your professional skills and knowledge in supporting adults in making choices and exercising control over how they wish to live.
You will build upon your existing knowledge of contemporary interventions and understanding of different areas, such as self-neglect.
Your analytical skills when working with adults at risk of abuse will be developed, as well as your practice in promoting individuals wellbeing and your knowledge of current research and theory will increase to support your practice in safeguarding adults.
You will also increase your understanding of self in practice and how you manage uncertainty in complex practice.
This module will provide you with contemporary skills and knowledge to enhance individual practice, as well as providing supervisors or managers of other professionals with the knowledge to support your practice.
It will help you to share best practice with peers and allied professionals as well as advance your skills in multi-agency/professional working.
