  • Internal gravity waves: Analytical and numerical methods with emphasis on the role of bottom topography.
  • Coastal ocean dynamics: Numerical modelling of wind-driven circulation in shelf-slope areas, field observations and comparison analysis of theoretical and in-situ data. 
  • Baroclinic tides: Analytical and numerical modelling of their generation, evolution and dissipation in regions of oceanic ridges and continental slopes.
  • Flow-topography interaction: Numerical modelling of nonlinear interaction of oscillating tidal currents with bottom topography.
  • Large amplitude internal solitary waves: Numerical and analytical modelling of their structure and dynamics including wave breaking and water mixing.
