I am module leader for the second year module Marine Ecophysiology and also teach on the second year module Biology of Marine Organisms and the third year module Marine Biology - An Evolutionary Approach. I also teach on the first year field course to Roscoff and the second year course in Portugal. I am a first year personal tutor on the Marine Biology degree and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects.

Research interests
I am interested in the role of developmental plasticity in enabling species to adapt to altered environmental conditions and the potential for adaptive evolution. This includes a focus on how variation the timing of developmental events within species might drive inter-specific differences in developmental timing (heterochrony). I am also interested in the application of new phenomics technologies for measuring developmental plasticity and the interactive effects of biotic (predation) and abiotic (temperature, hypoxia) stressors.
