Research interests

        Current research activities include using soft computing components (i.e. neural networks, fuzzy logic and evolutionary computations) in optimisation, parallel computing for neural and local modelnetwork training, genetic search optimisation through fuzzy logic, combing the features of genetic algorithms with genetic programming, evolutionary approach to multiple-modelling and control to non-linear systems, genetic approach to multivariate statistical process control, artificial intelligence and expert systems. Use of genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic and neural networks for modelling and the design of novel control systems for industrial and marine plant particularly for wave energy devices and uninhabited marine vehicles for both surface and underwater operations.
