Dr Sarah Keast is the Economics Programme Manager and a lecturer at the University of Plymouth. With an undergraduate degree in mathematics and a PhD in economic modelling, Sarah’s research and teaching interests are predominantly quantitative in nature, including regional economic modelling, econometrics, quantitative decision making and the housing market. Sarah’s PhD involved the development of a computable general equilibrium model for the South West with particular focus on the regional housing market. She has also co-authored several published papers and a book on quantitative decision-making techniques for managers. During her career at the University of Plymouth, Sarah contributed to research and consultancy for both the private and public sector. She has worked with organisations including the BBC, the South West Regional Development Agency and local councils. Sarah has taught a wide variety of subjects including microeconomics, macroeconomics, research methods, game theory, mathematics and statistics. As Economics Programme Manager, Sarah is responsible for the maintenance of academic standards across all Economics degree programmes. She works closely with her colleagues in the Economics Group to ensure that each student who chooses to study Economics at Plymouth is able to reach their academic potential and is fully prepared to meet their future career development challenges. |
