Role

As part of the Research & Innovation directorate, my role is Project Manager - Business Development  Through the success of the Economic Challenge Investment Fund I am responsible for the continued day to day operational management of its sustainable legacy.  They are:

LINK, the University of Plymouth’s physical business space LINK which includes a reception, two meeting rooms and drop-in networking space

Oversee Enterprise Solutions Service, a dedicated business facing enquiry service.

, incubation space for start-up businesses in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects.

In addition to the above I have overseen the operational aspects of Project Management of the Plymouth Graduate Internship Programme.

Being responsible for the day to day management of LINK this includes overseeing two team members being the LINK Administration Assistant and the Enterprise Solutions Service Enquiries Co-ordinator.

I report directly to the Head of Knowledge Transfer and Business Development, Emma Hewitt.

Building on over 7 years in a business development role for a local private training provider, through ECIF I have continued to develop and build positive working relationships through partnership working.  This is an area that I am keen to continue to nurture. I am currently working on aspects of developing our Relationship Management of Customers, Networks and Partnerships for the Customers Really Matter project.

I am a steering group member for the First Steps to Employment group and on the Local Management Board for Working Links. 

Qualifications & background
Background of work based in the private sector and FE for over 25 years.  Head of Department in previous role leading to Business Development Manager for a local FE college.  Experienced in workbased learning having taught and assessed NVQ levels 1-4.

Currently holding SFEDI Business Advisor award and with a keen interest in business development and partnership working, the current role within the University of Plymouth fits perfectly.

Active member of "First Steps to Employment" steering group and a board member for Working Links LMB.
