Teaching interests Teaching interests range around the broad spectrum of S.M.E. business management in the rural, tourism, hospitality and events management sectors. More specifically this includes financial and management accounting, financial management, business analysis and planning, business development, leadership and business strategy together with integrating the range of functions involved in business studies. In terms of pedagogic approaches I am interested in problem based learning, technology supported e-learning and the use of business simulations to give students insights into the dynamics of business management, and the impacts of competition on business strategy. Research interests Pedagogic research into the use of technology to support learning, specialising in online and distance learning and the use of business simulations. I am particularly interested in studying student online learning behaviours and study patterns to facilitate the development of more effective approaches to using this technology. On a subject level I am interested in researching student attitudes to enterprise and business development and determining those factors that are likely to promote an inclination to be enterprising.
