Role
I am the Professional Studies Advisor for the School of Architecture and a part time design tutor.
I run Module COMN 301 (Degree RIBA Part I) and ARCH 405 (Masters RIBA Part II).

I am based at the University each Monday 

Qualifications & background
I run Atkinson Architects in Plymouth - a small, design focused practice with projects throughout Devon, Cornwall and in London. We specialise in projects set in conservation areas and are committed to high quality contemporary design and thorough restoration.

I studied at Plymouth University School of Architecture (Degree 1st class hons RIBA Part I) and Bath University School of Architecture (Masters Dist RIBA Part II). 

Professional membership
RIBA Chartered Architect & ARB Registered. 

Roles on external bodies
I am a member of the APSAA
Member of the RIBA programme Architecture - Education in Schools seeking to broaden the scope and understanding of architecture in both primary and secondary schools. 


Teaching interests
I am interested in the specific regional qualities of architecture, particularly those of the Westcountry;- building types, architectural forms, materials and craftsmanship.

I am interested in the ever changing role of the architect and how different models of professional practice evolve.
