Teaching interests
Postgraduate and undergraduate courses in the areas of Maritime Business, International Shipping and Port Operations. Subject areas presently taught include: Ship Operations, Commercial Practice-Shipping Law, Human Resource Management, Port Operations, Maritime Geography.
Past teaching experience has involved the delivery of training and educational courses recognised by the Department for Transport and Royal Yachting Association. The courses led to professional qualifiocation for the professional mariner, fishermand and yachtsman. Courses have been taught at all levels from RYAS Dayskipper to Master Mariner (Class 1) and have included the following subject knowledge: Ship Master's Business, Ship Construction & Stability, Meteorology, Ocean, Coastal and Electronic Navigation, Radar, Seamanship.

Research interests
A
spects of maritime safety, shipping quality, maritime education and training, maritime careers, role of maritime cluster organisations and promotion of the maritime industrial sector. Ship and port operational management practice is embodied in the range of interests.
