Role
Postdoctoral research associate in sea level studies

Qualifications & background
2009-present: postdoctoral research associate at the University of Plymouth
2007-2009: postdoctoral research associate at the Norwegian Polar Institute
2007: PhD in palaeoclimatology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam
2001: MSc in geology, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Professional membership
Member of AGU, QRA, and BCRA

Teaching interests
Sea level change, climate change, palaeoclimatology, micropalaeontology, coastal geomorphology

Research interests

Working within the framework of NERC project "Using interglacials to assess future sea-level scenarios (iGlass)", which aims at constraining the magnitude and rate of sea level change in previous interglacials. This information will provide information on possible future sea level changes. We use salt marsh foraminifera as a proxy for palaeo-sea level.

General interests: Late Quaternary sea level change, benthic foraminifera, planktonic foraminifera, monsoon, stable isotopes, geochemistry, foraminiferal ecology, climate change, glacial-interglacial changes.

UoP Research group membership

Centre for Research in Environment and Society (CeRES)

Grants & contracts
2011-2013: NERC project "Using inter-glacials to assess future sea-level scenarios" (iGlass)
2009-2011: NERC project "North Atlantic sea-level variability during the last half-millennium” (SeaLevel500)
