Additional information

I graduated from Sussex University in 1992 with a BA Hons in Modern Languages and after that proceeded to study for an MA in Children's Literature at the Roehampton Institute. I later gained a PGCE and taught English and French in Secondary School for 12 years. In 2008 my first poetry collection, 'Windfall' was published by Oversteps Books. In 2009 I began a Creative and Critical PhD at Exeter University and in 2012 the creative work, 'Otter Country' a nature-travel memoir was published by Granta to great acclaim. In September 2013 I was appointed as Lecturer in English and Creative Writing at the University of Plymouth. I graduated with my PhD in 2014, and my research interests centre around wildlife writing, travel and nature writing, memoir, ecocriticism and ecopoetry. I am currently working on 'Owl Sense', a book about the human relationship with owls.
