Role
Project Management for Knowledge Transfer Partnership [KTP] projects. This role involves me in brokering enquiries to the University from companies to establish whether UoP has the expertise able to assist. Managing the development of this relationship and coordinating this into a KTP proposal to the Technology Strategy Board [TSB] for grant assistance to employ a high-calibre graduate for typically 2 years working on a challenging project within the Company with support and input from the relevant University expertise. On successful funding, recruiting then line managing the graduate [KTP Associate] and managing the project throughout the period to ensure delivery of key benefits to all partners – University, Company and Associate. At completion I also coordinating the final report to TSB reflecting actual activity, achievements and impact to all parties. For more information on KTP please see KTP Online at http://www.ktponline.org.uk/

From 2005 to 2010 I have coordinated 14 KTP Proposals that have been successful in obtaining a total of over £1m in grant funding and have provided a total income of over £1.7m for the University.  I have Project Managed a total of 25 different KTPs during this time one of which gained the SW Best Partnership Award for 2009 - the first time UoP had won this accolade. I have worked with Academics across Engineering, Computing, PBS, Psychology and Health in subject areas such as Information Management, Process Improvement, Electronics, Resource Efficiency, Manufacturing, Marketing and Business Development.
