Role Mark is a lecturer in International Procurement and Supply Chain Management and is based within the International Shipping and Logistics Group. Before joining the University of Plymouth, Mark was an EPSRC funded PhD student at Newcastle University where he was (and still is) involved with the five-university Low Carbon Shipping project. His research involves developing a model that can be used to quantify and forecast trade flows and related CO2 emissions for maritime containerized freight entering and leaving the United Kingdom between country of origin and final destination up to year 2050. Mark’s role at the University of Plymouth is to contribute to the teaching of logistics and supply chain management, whilst also creating and maintaining links with professional bodies associated with procurement such as the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
