Role

I have worked at the University of Plymouth for over 10 years, previously as a Project Administrator and now in my current role in graduate recruitment. I am responsible for leading the graduate recruitment function for Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) and the Plymouth Graduate Internship Programme (PGIP) and acting as a first point of contact for graduates and company partners.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) is Europe's leading programme helping buisnesses to improve thier competitiveness, productivity and performance through the better use of knowledge availabe within UK academic institutions to facilitate the transfer of knowledge into businesses and organisations. KTP is collectively one of the UK's largest graduate employers with jobs available throughout the year. KTP provides a fantastic platform to launch and fast track a graduate's career and recent graduates can benefit from earning a competitive salary, personal development opportunities and an opportunity for managing a challenging project central to the strategic develpment and growth of a business.

In 2010, The Plymouth Graduate Internship Programme successfully saw 274 graduates being employed by local businesses on short term temporary contracts as well as on a permanent basis. The aim of the internships is to provide opportunities for graduates to gain valuable work experience and progress their career. For employers, they wil benefit from the latest up-to-date knowledge of graduates along with an injection of new ideas and skills to the workforce.

To support the KTP and PGIP activities, I am also responsible for marketing activities to both the business and graduate audience through Enterprise Solutions. I work closely with Careers and attend a number of Career events to target recent graduates. I also provide support to business networking activities to promote KTP and PGIP offerings. I am responsible for compiling KTP success stories highlighting the benefits to those who engage with the programme.
