Dr. Joasia Krysa is founding director of KURATOR/AST (Art and Social Technologies Research) and Associate Professor (Reader) in Art and Technology at the University of Plymouth, UK. 

She is a co-editor of DATA browser book series (published by Autonomedia, New York),  Member of the Council of Management for WRO Media Art Foundation (Wroclaw, Poland), and currently part of the curatorial team for Documenta 13 (2012, Kassel).

She regularly contributes to international juries such as ARCO International Contemporary Art Fair in Madrid (2007-2010) and scientific advisory boards including International Scientific Committee of the 1st International Congress on Web Studies  at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico (2010) and the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation Scientific Committee for  Art - Science in the European Union project (2009-2010).

Current research interests include:
• cultural management, leadership, curating;
• curatorial practice for Internet, technological systems and networks
• critical theory at the intersection of culture and technology
• innovative and experimental curatorial software systems and online platforms (software curating, curating and social technologies)

Research esteem:
• submision of high quality research outputs at the international level to Research Assessment Exercise UoA 63 (2001,  2008)
• dveloping new research strands consistent with the Faculty and School agendas through KURATOR / Art and Social Technologies research group
• developing research expertise and practice in an emerging field  of curating, software and network cultures  through KURATOR (research and curatorial platform since 2004)
