I am currently in the first-year of my PhD studies with Plymouth University. My research project aims to investigate the decision-making process for the selection of facades for multi-storey buildings.

Background
Research Assistant
2010-2011, Plymouth University
Three short-term Research Assistant contracts within the Environmental Building Group at Plymouth University. My roles included helping Dr Steve Donohoe and Mr Andrew Fox to prepare sustainably-themed learning materials for the new MSc Sustainable Construction (Cost/Project Management). I also assisted Dr Wei Pan on three funded pedagogic research projects:

- Centre for Education in the Built Environment (CEBE) funded development project: Developing a guide for integrating 'Research-informed Teaching' into sustainable construction education.

- CEBE-funded research project: Implementing and evaluating the integration of critical thinking into Project Based Learning (PBL) in Environmental building.

- Plymouth University Teaching Fellowship Award Scheme (TFAS)-funded project: Enhancing design project-based learning in sustainable building by incorporating learning technology.



Product Development
1997-2007, various UK locations
Successful 10-year career in food product development, progressing from Product Development Technologist to Product Development Manager. Working with fish, pastry and meat products, the roles included: developing food products from concept to launch, external and internal customer liaison, flavour profile creation, product costing, technical assistance, and quality monitoring.

Research interests
I am particularly interested in research that aids building energy efficiency and occupier comfort. I particularly enjoy research that takes a case study approach, as I like the real-life aspect and the interaction with industry colleagues.
