Teaching interests
2009 - 2011 Demonstrator on practicals and computer workshops for 2nd year undergraduate students in support of the coursework "Geostrophic currents in the open sea" for the module EOE2303 "The Global Ocean" at University of Plymouth, UK (demonstrating and marking).

2011 Demonstrator and instructor for field work R/V “Falcon Spirit” for 2nd year undergraduate students at University of Plymouth, UK. 


Research interests

  • Physical Oceanography: Dense water cascading, gravity current dynamics, frictional Ekman layers
  • Numerical modelling: ocean circulation models, regional models with open boundaries, NEMO, POLCOMS

 

  • I am currently investigating the dynamics of the Storfjorden overflow in Svalbard, Arctic Ocean.
  • Previously I was working on the long-term variability of shelf-deep sea exchange on the North-Western Black Sea shelf.
  • Earlier scientific contributions include work on genetic fingerprinting software in support of the Human genome Project.
