Qualifications & background I was awarded a MA Honours Degree in History and Politics from the University of Aberdeen and a MSc in European Policy, Law and Management from the Robert Gordon University. In 2000, I received my Doctorate in International Relations from the University of Aberdeen. I have worked as Research Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Aberdeen and as Projects Officer at the Scottish Centre for International Security. I was also Module Convenor/Teaching Fellow at the University of Exeter where I taught courses on Balkan Security, International Terrorism and International Security. In 2006 I was appointed Senior Associate Member at the Centre for South Eastern European Studies, St Antony’s College, Oxford University. I am also a visiting Professor at the Hellenic National Defence College. I currently work as a Senior Lecturer in Strategic Studies at the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, which is part of University of Plymouth Teaching interests Research interests My research interests are in areas of International & European security, with special emphasis on western interventions in the post Cold War Era, international terrorism, and Balkan security studies.
