Creative practice & artistic projects
Exhibitions of Visual Art, Installations and Video works

My art works either depict or are conceived around the experience
or the observation of human movement. As a dancer who no longer performs but loves seeing others move and perform I give myself permission to work in any medium from filming movers in interesting settings, creating choreography, to paintings of dancers, and from large scale installations with empty crates to small pieces of jewellery designed for the shape, gestures and gait of a specific wearer. Embodiment and ecological concerns are at the heart of my visualisations, designs and making.

Filmography

I have been making short video films since 2001. Prior to that I made some super-8 films for scenographic backdrops for my own choreography.

Interested in movement and its real-time observation I have filmed dance improvisation, work- and everyday-movements. I like to think of what I do as camera-witnessing, a kind of empathetic, slow observation. My films allow viewers to spend time gazing rather than catching up with a stream of rushing images. My films offer time to simply look and absorb movement.
