Qualifications & background

  • Qualified as a physiotherapist from the Royal Naval School Haslar in 1976
  • Clinical physiotherapy positions in UK and overseas (Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Australia)
  • Principle areas of experience are in musculoskeletal and orthopaedics
  • Completed Open University BA (Hons) degree in 1995
  • Worked as part-time research assitant/fellow at the University of Brighton from 1995-2005
  • Completed PhD (Longitudinal movement of peripheral nerves measured by Doppler ultrasound) in 2004
  • Currently lecturing at the University of Plymouth since May 2005
