Geomatics

The aim of the group is to develop new areas of collaborative research and links with commercial organisations in areas that include coastal zone management, hydrography, geodesy, GIS, GPS, meteorology, navigation & remote sensing. The areas of interest are applied to multi-disciplinary applications such as:

  • application of Earth Observation data to climate change
  • an improved understanding of ecological and biological variability within the Celtic shelf-sea and Atlantic ecosystems
  • the application of new visualisation techniques to improve the provision of hydrographic data
  • the development of renewable energy in the south west of the UK
