Industrial and Engineering Mathematics

Staff in the Industrial and Engineering Mathematics (IEM) research group share a common interest in the application of analytical and numerical mathematical methods to problems that arise in industrial or engineering contexts.  Group members, all of whom work in the School of Computing and Mathematics, made significant contributions to the Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Mechanical, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering submissions to the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.  Current areas of interest include Applied Fluid DynamicsMagnetic Recording and Materials Science.
